Therapy
While my therapeutic foundation is cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), I use an eclectic therapeutic approach best suited to the specific needs of individual clients. I am increasingly using exciting ‘Third Wave’ CBT approaches that have emerged in more recent decades. These approaches seek to promote healthy and flexible cognitive and behavioural patterns consistent with good mental health and the goal of ‘flourishing’ rather than simply targeting symptom reduction. These approaches include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy.
Clinical Areas of Interest:
Mood Disorders
Anxiety Disorders
Adjustment Issues
Trauma Issues
Grief and Loss
Chronic Illness
LGBTI Mental Health
Stress and Burnout
I am available to see private clients from Monday to Wednesday.
I offer face-to-face sessions in the Sydney CBD on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Tele-health is also available.
Tele-health (primarily video-based) is a convenient mode of therapy that can increase treatment accessibility if time is scarce or proximity or travel issues pose a therapeutic obstacle.
Supervision
I am an experienced clinical supervisor who regularly supervises postgraduate students from leading NSW universities including the University of Sydney, UNSW, UTS and Macquarie University.
As a board-approved supervisor (PsyBA), I am qualified to supervise registered psychologists undertaking the PsyBA registrar program towards eligibility for endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology.
Providing supervision for both early-career and experienced psychologists is a highly rewarding aspect of my work and provides me with substantial professional and personal satisfaction. Please get in touch to discuss further.
